Mike was born in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire and until recently still lived there with his wife and four children. However in 2008 (after selling the majority of his shares in Dreams) Mike and his family moved into the Chilterns Countryside where he is now enjoying a variety of new interests, and a 'slightly' less hectic lifestyle! He also now travels the world (on 'The World') with his family and friends for over three months of the year (see ... residensea.com) Mike is also a Freeman of the City of London, an Ambassador for Buckinghamshire, a Governor of Buckinghamshire New University, a director of British Retail Consortium, a Liveryman at The Worshipful Company of Furniture Makers, Co-Chairman of Wycombe 4C (Business in the Community) a Patron of Chalfonts Community College, an Advisor to the British Furniture Confederation, a Fellow of the Institute of Directors as well as a multiple award winner in his own right (listed in Who's Who). Mike's charitable interests see him as Patron for The Retail Trust, a Trustee for The Buckinghamshire Foundation, Director (& Past President) of Furniture Trade Benevolent Association and ex Chair of both Beaconsfield Round Table & 41 Club. Mike is also an active supporter of disadvantaged young peoples Charities such as The Outward Bound Trust, The Child Bereavement Trust and The Princes Trust.
